A cell phone charger is an integral device for any cell phone owner that is used to refill the power of a phone battery.

What is a phone adapter?
Generally a ‘phone adapter’ is another term for phone charger, which simply consist of a plug that fits into a mobile phone and a standard wall socket connector.

Is there a difference between different chargers?
The most popular cell phone manufacturers such as Nokia, Motorola and Sony Ericsson all create their own cell phone chargers for their own models. A Motorola charger will not fit a Nokia cell phone, and vice versa. At this stage, there are no cell phones that use a standardised charger.

Why don’t they create standardised cell phone chargers?
Fortunately, cell phone manufacturers have very recently agreed to manufacturer their phones so they can be used with a standardised charger. This will be a huge win for consumers who no longer have to buy new cell phone chargers every time they buy a new cell phone or lose their existing charger.

What kind of connection will standardised cell phone chargers have?
At this stage, cell phone manufacturers are said to standardise the mini USB port on all cell phones. This means all phones will have the same size USB port and thus can use any branded or generic cell phone charger with a mini USB connection.
